Toothbrush Rug Tutorial

Rag Rug Cafe shows how to make a rug using an old toothbrush as the "hook or needle". These rugs are a great way to use up old clothing or sheets that you would usually get rid of.

You can also find another tutorial on Youtube showing her method to make the toothbrush rug.

Jelly Roll Rug

I know we don't really want to use our prized Jelly Rolls  to put on the floor, but this is a cute rug. You could also just use scraps up on this rug. Maybe use an ugly jelly roll? Is there such a thing as an ugly jelly roll? Do you have any of those?

The finished rag rug is a pretty accent for high-traffic areas in your home.

Rag rugs are simple to make, very sturdy, and the scrappy mix of colors makes them beautiful. If you don't have many fabric scraps on hand, look in your local thrift store for some old sheets, which yield lots of rug material. This design, which measures 19 inches by 29 inches, is crocheted with several fabrics to create vertical stripes....simple tutorial over at eHow.
