Rag rugs are simple to make, very sturdy, and the scrappy mix of colors makes them beautiful. If you don't have many fabric scraps on hand, look in your local thrift store for some old sheets, which yield lots of rug material. I've been saving my scraps along with my moms and one of my neighbors scraps for projects just like this. I just have one question. If I was to throw one of these rugs in the washer would anything happen? I have kids and two dogs and would hate for the rug to turn into a frayed mess. Any advice would be appreciated.
